Synopsis
Directed by Deon Taylor, “Drift” is an intimate portrait of Isaac “Drift” Wright — a self-taught photographer and U.S. Army veteran carrying the weight of trauma, who finds an unlikely path to healing through breathtaking, illegal climbs of the world's tallest structures.
What begins as a search for stillness and artistic freedom becomes a high-stakes confrontation with law enforcement, as Wright's pursuit of the perfect image draws national attention. The film is a meditation on risk, resilience, and what it means to chase freedom in modern America.
Produced by Hidden Empire Film Group, “Drift” makes its World Premiere in the Documentary Spotlight section at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin, Texas.
“A story of risk, resilience, and freedom — captured from the edge of the skyline.
